Thoughts
  • Best Memory- “Just hanging out (especially Blog Party and out-of-town trips).”
  • Greatest Personal Achievement- “Finishing State XC; Running 4:50 in the mile after coming back from surgery.”
  • "Having an older brother on the team was great. If it wasn't for Andrew I never would have started to run. He got me out to all the practices and helped me along the way with any problems that I had. He made starting Cross Country much easier because I knew somebody right off the bat. He was a great role model for me and I'm sure he was for many of the other runners. GREAT JOB!!"- Matt O'Connor, brother and teammate.

Bio

Andrew O’Connor was a tall, scrawny, soft-spoken runner at DeSmet from 2006 to 2010. He is one of the select few, and the only in his class, to run all eight seasons (4 XC & 4 Track). He was dedicated to the sport and his times improved drastically over the course of his career. OC, as just about everyone called him, was fun-loving and always had a smile on his face. His Senior campaign was slowed by injuries, but these injuries could not dampen his spirits. OC had the greatest civilian (non-Blog Master) impact on the Milk Table in its first season. He led the team with a very impressive 31 comments. Also, he was one of only two guys to have multiple contributions. He had unmatched enthusiasm, and was a great promoter and ambassador for the Milk Table in its early days.

OC, congratulations on an excellent career. And welcome to the Milk Table Hall of Fame.
