Throw Back

We returned to Conway today for some more tempos on the epic finale of Jersey Week. We went back to our roots. The days we when we all went to different school spread across the city and played sports that involved balls.

This time for the tempos everyone had faster paces and an extra mile, but the workout was even better than last week. The Varsity guys had a 3 by 2, JV guys had a 2 by 2 and the freshmen had just 2. We had a great cool down with T-bone afterwards. After core we got brought it in and ended with “1-2-3 DESMET” before the long weekend.

I got my Splash just before I went inside after we finished. For those of you who don’t know, we have a tradition of dumping the water cooler on people for their 18th Birthday. It was well executed. Seiler blocked the door. Alex grabbed my bag. And Matt dumped the cooler. It was cold and awesome. Nice work guys, thanks!

Quote of the Day: “Potter texted me this morning”- Seiler after I told him that for a few minutes I thought they forgot to dump the water on me.

Joke of the Day: [insert Madey tool gibberish]- Madey after being called a tool for his arm sleeve while we were doing drills.

Morning Best Dressed (not part of Jersey Week): The Morgenthalers. The only thing more ridiculous than one green man suit is two green man suits. That’s exactly what we had. They continued the Morning Mean Green theme of Matt from last week. Two people running a mile in green man suits is way more ridiculous than you would think.

Best Dressed: Today was grade school jersey day. Josh Goetz and Drew Higgins had old baseball jerseys. The Bulldog, STEVE PLACHT, Jordan Bender, and Kabes went basketball for the second day in a row. Jacob Seilar and Greg Clever had soccer. And Glen McGann had a track shirt! But Matt O'C has won best dressed. After a week of feeling left out, Matt claims the gold on the final day of jersey week. Matt borrowed Tyler O'Connor (T OC, OC3)'s St. Monica soccer jersey. But won gave Matt the victory over Madey's armband was the official St. Monica socks that he wore through 5 dominating tempos. Matt O'Connor. You are the best dressed.

Week’s Best Dressed: Jersey theme week has come to an end. Although most runners participated, some went above and beyond. In the close, but not so much category is Michael Callahan, Jordan Bender, Glen McGann, Brian Scherping, and Michael Ahlheim. So that leaves the semifinalists for the Winner Of The Week. Matt O'Connor, Kevin Abernathy, Jacob Seiler, and John Madey put the effort out there, all four days. The winner has to be Kabes. Kevin Abernathy went 110% every day. From Peter Crouch, to Trent Green, to Shawn Kemp, to the Assumption basketball jersey, Kevin could have won the individual award every day. Kabes. You are the Winner Of The Week.
